Leeds Rhinos Sign Richard Moore

So today Leeds Rhinos announced that they have signed Richard Moore, the 30 year old prop from troubled club, Crusaders RL, on a 3 year contact.

Now I’m not having a go at Richard Moore here & I’m sure he’ll end up being an amazing player for us & I’ll have to eat my words, but really???

This does NOT fill me with confidence at all! Sure he’s a good player, but in my opinion he’s the wrong side of 30. I personally think, the size of club we are, we should be bringing in a higher calibre of younger player.

I guess we’ll just have to wait & see who else comes our way over the next few months, here’s hoping!

Hi Carly, I would like to comment on the statement that you made about Richard Moore. I don’t think it will too long before you are made to eat your words, anyone who follows the modern game of rugby league ought to know that a prop forward doesn’t really reach their full potential until they hit 30 years and Richard will make a great servant for Leeds for the next three years if he remains fit and healthy. Richard is one of the most underated forwards in the British game and has always been able to develop a strong following with the fans whereever he has played. As a long time Leeds fan, I for one am very pleased that we have secured this talented player. He matured greatly under his time with Wakefield coach John Kear and will do a lot to bolster the Leeds pack. I look forward to your next post on this topic, where you get to eat some humble pie!!
