Great! Yarmouth – Day 3

Today we headed to a place called Somerleyton Hall and Gardens. A stately home 5 miles away from the holiday village.

It was a lovely big stately home set in a beautiful 5000 acre English estate. The gardens were very well maintained, along with a maze, a parterre, one that was sunken and loads of grounds to run around in.

The maze is a quarter of a mile to the middle & a quarter of a mile back, although the number of dead ends we went down, I’m sure it was more like half a mile both ways 🙂

We went on the hall tour which took approx 45 minutes, and as it was bank holiday, there was a brass band playing in the marquee, which was a lovely touch.

At the end of our visit we went into the Kitchen Garden CafĂ© and had the most delicious scone with the works…it come highly recommended!!!

We got back to the caravan early enough to have a really quick swim. It was so quiet as most people had obviously gone home after the bank holiday weekend. The pool itself was really safe for the little man, where he was able to wander around by himself for the most part. I’m sure we’ll be going back a few more times before the week’s out.
