Fancy grazing?

I have recently been introduced to Graze, a company who send you nibbles in the post straight to your desk, to fight those afternoon hunger pains.

My initial reaction is that they’re fantastic. I’m always snacking on rubbish and really should eat more of the things that are better for me but are too lazy to do so. These are the perfect solution. No obligation to buy, stop them at any time, have as little or as much as you like.

Go on…try it…you know you want to!

A year in blogging

Happy New Year.

2011 was my first stab at having my own website. Stories & comments from holidays, rugby league and a little bit of geeky stuff added in. WordPress kindly put together the following stats to show what people have been looking at & to be honest, I don’t think it’s too bad for a starting point.

I hope you’ll all continue to enjoy what I have to say over the next year.

Merry Christmas

I would like to take a moment to wish everyone who visits www.carlybond.co.uk…

Very Merry Christmas!

I hope Santa Claus brings you everything you wish for & 2012 is the best year yet!

I am hoping to blog more in the new year as I know I have let things slide for a while, however, I think I have slightly lost focus.  Hoping that the New Year will bring me a little more inspiration.

Happy Birthday Blog

This is just a short little message to wish my close friend, Mike Hudson, a very happy birthday!! Without him none of this would be possible and I am extremely grateful for him for setting me up, teaching me what to do, & releasing my inner geek!

Just hoping the learning can continue so this blog can go from strength to strength & much more besides!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!

Back Pain Part 2

So I’m back to the physio today for more work on my back. I’ve been doing my exercises over the last week quite regularly and to be honest the pain is not as bad as it has been.

Last time I was here she pushed very hard into each of the gaps in my spine which was strangely satisfying until she touched a bit that was sore, where I flew through the floor!

Hopefully it will get easier with time, because I feel very much like an old lady at times but at least I can get in & out of a chair without pain which is where I was last week!

Wonder what to expect this week! :)

Pain in the back

It all started about 2 years ago on a trip to the Maldives. There I was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, snorkelling with my husband and a friend.

Now I’m not a very good swimmer at the best of times and because the tide was very strong I was finding it very hard to tread water.

Once back at the island of Hudhuranfushi & sitting in the bar, as you do, I realised my back was becoming increasing uncomfortable. The following day we went on a very bumpy speedboat ride to the capital of Male & on the night it was even worse.

Now I know this seems a little far fetched but because of these fun times my coccyx bone has been troubling me ever since, sometimes to the point where I just can’t get up off a hard chair without really wincing in pain!

Over the last few months my coccyx has not been to bad, but the base of my back & my hips have been aching like mad, like a toothache. So I went to the doctors who informed me it still could be all to do with those relaxing & fun times 2 years ago.

So I’m now going to physio in the hope that I can build up the muscles in my back! I have exercises to do 2-3 times a day which are in turn making my original coccyx problem worse…will it ever end? I hope so, as I’m sick of it now!

Lets see what happens…day 2 of physio is now!

Praise goes a long way

Tomorrow I will be attending a work awards do where I will be treated to a manicure, a 3 course meal, some live music & a nights stay in a really nice hotel.

People nominate each other throughout the year and the quarterly winners get to go to a do at the end of the year where someone will win yearly awards too.

I was lucky enough to go last year when my name got drawn out of a hat when we won a team award but this year I’m going after winning an individual one which is nice.

It was a total shock to win my quarterly award and I have no doubt that I won’t be winning a yearly one, but I’m very appreciative of the opportunity of going…just wishing that I could take all my workmates with me who, all too, deserve to be treated :)

Take That & Party

For the last few months I have been so excited about going to see Take That on tour that when the day finally came I didn’t know what to do with myself.  I woke up, after not a lot of sleep, giddy to say the least.  There was 8 of us going, all of us girls so we decided to meet up at Xscape at Castleford for a spot of lunch & a catch up first.

As you can imagine we were all a little loud & so excited about seeing them again.  Most of the group had been to see them on the Circus tour so knew exactly (well nearly) what to expect!  A few bottles of wine were consumed whilst we waited for our meal (and for our friend to come from Scarborough via Huddersfield ;D) and then we set off in 2 cars.

On went the Take That CD’s & up went the volume…4 girls singing, ok, ok, screeching, in a small car all the way to Manchester is something to experience :D   It was so much fun.

We got to Manchester, found a ‘free’ parking space, and wandered up to the City of Manchester Stadium.  When we got there we were faced with this…A totally amazing sight…

Everything about the night was fantastic…The best bit for me, personally, has got to be Robbie Williams opening his solo section with ‘Let Me Entertain You’.  I think I actually nearly had a heart attack as don’t think I’ve been so excited about anything in my life (believe me, I know this is a little sad).

Other highlights include the finale of ‘Never Forget’ and ‘Relight My Fire’, which ended up with this fella appearing from behind the stage…

P1040347

I cannot emphasise enough what a fantastic show these boys put on…I loved the format of the 4 boys, then Robbie solo, then the 5 boys back together, it really, really worked, and by far one of the best shows I’ve even been to.  I just can’t quite say it’s the best as, even with the Robbie Williams part, the Circus Tour was still marginally better for me.

3 Peaks Challenge

SNB12655

I just wanted to thank anyone who sponsored my husband to do the British 3 Peaks Challenge for Dove House Hospice.  Him & the rest of his work colleagues from the Hull Daily Mail, didn’t manage to complete it in the 24 hours but did conquer all 3 in 31 hours and 20 minutes, which is still brilliant.

I have heard many stories about the week before, in terms of weather problems and having to give up half way on certain ones, that getting round all 3 of them at all was a feat in itself. There are still a few achy muscles & joints around but I think the sense of achievement is now starting to outweigh the pain.

They have currently raised nearly £3k and could still do with more support if you could spare a few pounds…

Olympic Tickets

So today I found out exactly what Olympic tickets I had received and to be honest I’m an ickle bit disappointed. I applyed for 1 & a half days of events and ended up with one session of either Basketball or Table Tennis. Fingers crossed my mother in law gets the day at Wimbledon for the day before, then at least it will be 2 days instead of a few hours.

That been said…it’s the Olympics & I’m going to an event…this rocks!!! It’s in the Olympic Village too!!! It’s going to be so cool! Plus there is still the chance we might be able to get more, although on the news this morning, it said we are worse off getting one event than none, but never mind.

To be there to experience the atmosphere it going to be brilliant, I know it :D
